Consultation
Upon request, the school counselor is available to assist parents and teachers with academic, personal, emotional, or social issues involving a child or other students.
Assessments
The school counselor is a licensed child psychologist. Parents may consult with the counselor about having their child assessed by the VCSB or professionals in our community. Also, the counselor can provide a pre-assessment for ADHD, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, Tourette's syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and oppositional-defiant disorder, should these medical conditions be suspected. After pre-assessment, appropriate recommendations and referrals can be made.
